One Year Birthday Bash – July 3rd!

Hey Everyone

Due to the happy event of a WEDDING! We must postpone our Birthday Party.

Tuesday July 3rd we re-launch Classic Tuesday Movies.

Door open at 6:30 for free cake. The classic family summer movie, The Sandlot, is free as well.

It’s rated PG, is 101 minutes long and received two thumbs up from the premier movie critics of the day, Siskel and Ebert.

Bring your family! Celebrate with us!

Darling Companion – June 29th

This quirky, sometime too true to life drama has humour, romance, adventure, and even a bit of fantasy thrown in for good measure.

At times it feels more like a stage play. The rawness of some emotional scenes reminded me of  the way live theatre has no barrier between you and the actors.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film.

Come and watch it the last Friday in June.

The Lorax – this Weekend!

This weekend – Friday night – 7:00 pm and Saturday 2:30

Great family movie event and is NOT available on DVD until August.

June 15th – Midnight in Paris

A family travel to the French capital for business. The party includes a young engaged couple who are forced to confront their differing views of a perfect life.

 2011 – PG-13 – Comedy – 94 minutes
Starring Owen Wilson (best role of his career!)
Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates

Technical Difficulties for Darling Companion

A glitch in the reproduction of Darling Companion has left our DVD copy with no dialogue sound. All the other tracks are there – background music, sound effects, and music.

At first I thought this was some artistically manouevered editing to make the point that only the Dog could hear the owner but it soon became apparent that it was a glitch.

Criterion is looking into the problem but it won’t be fixed by Friday night in Port McNeill.

I’ll find an alternative movie and let you know asap what will be playing at The Gate House Theatre.

Wasn’t that a Party?

Lord Stanley’s Cup arrived in the building just before the game. Wasn’t long before it was placed at center stage. And then it was hoisting high in the air and marched down the street to be displayed at Timberand’s window.

Thank you to everyone who came out last night. What a party! I’m sure it’s only a taste of what we have in store as we prepare to host Lord Stanley’s Cup in Port McNeill sometime this summer.

A special thanks to Miles and Mei Ling Trevor, Gene and Gaby Wickstrom, Terrence Eissfeldt, Ben Jorgenson, Shaw Communications, and all the folks at Timberland.

No Hot Food Available
